Also on this page are many Riddell helmets from 1968 through 1974 which were manufactured by Riddell for use on the field by NFL teams, but instead ended up as some of these helmet shells did, assembled into a Riddell helmet lamp. These are not replicas or light weight look-alikes. They are the same helmets that were used by all of your favorite NFL players during the 1960s and 1970s in NFL games! They are very rare and highly desirable, as well as collectible. These helmets were then removed from the lamp base and recently received a suspension and padding exactly like the suspension used during that era. | It really doesn't get much better than this; a real gamer. The helmet is missing part of the "water jacket" padding that fits into the top and front. Otherwise, this is a real beauty, showing extensive game use, including a small crack in the shell. The single bar mask is actually one of the two bars from a 2-bar face mask. My guess is this helmet belonged to a kicker or punter, but we are not sure as there are no number references available. Great old original piece of NFL memorabilia! |

| This Rams beauty is an authentic Riddell Kra-Lite TK helmet, and according to the date stamp inside the helmet, was manufactured in 1971. This helmet was manufactured by Riddell for use on the field, but ended up as some of the helmet shells did, assembled into a Riddell helmet lamp. The helmet was removed from that lamp and recently received a suspension padding. The shell and mask are all original and from the original manufacture date. The jaw pads are authentic leather too! | One of the truly rare Riddell Kra-Lite helmets, and an exact duplication of the helmet worn by Earl Morrall in 1972. The TAK-29 Kra-Lite helmet incorporated one of the early developments in padding to help prevent concussions. This helmet shows the added "water jacket" padding at the base of the neck. This padding was added to the normal suspension padding of the golden era of professional football. This helmet also is actually date stamped 1972, the year of the Miami Dolphins perfect season and World Championship, and has the correct striping, decals, and font numerals #15 for Earl Morrall who led the team to the Super Bowl that year in the absence of injured Hall of Famer Bob Griese. Everything on this helmet is from the 1972 era and the helmet is as accurate a reproduction of the original as can be created. | What an amazing and rare find! Here is an authentic game suspension helmet from the 1969 Jersey Jays in their only season. After spending four years as the Charleston Rockets, the team moved to the Newark, NJ area for the final year of play in the Continental Football League (1965-1969). This minor league had aspirations of someday becoming more, and even followed NFL rules for the most part, with a few minor exceptions. There is also some evidence that the Jays were affiliated with the Cleveland Browns. The Jays played in old Schools stadium. This amazing survivor of the Golden Era of pro football is original and vintage in every way, from the thin mil decals to the original Riddell BD-9 two bar facemask, leather jaw pads, and vintage chin strap. On the rear of the helmet is stamped Riddell and Kra-Lite. Inside both sides written in black marker is "Vick 21". Don't miss this one. It must truly be a rare and unique "one-of-a-kind" item. |

| Absolutely amazing vintage and authentic Dallas Cowboys Riddell TAK-29 Kra-Lite II football helmet from the early 1970’s worn by Bennie Barnes and others while they were with the Dallas Cowboys. | This early 1970s vintage San Francisco 49ers Riddell TK-2 model football helmet is an amazing helmet. This white impregnated helmet is factory painted light gold like the 49ers helmets of the early 1970s. Helmet is Medium shell size, with the suspension size 7 1/4. Features original Riddell BD-9 two bar facemask and vintage U bar mask. Also, has vintage thin mil 49ers decals and striping. Center stripe is over rivets. Overall this helmet is in great condition with no game wear and only storage wear evident. Also, please notice the original suspension and very rare Aerocell padding, which was added to some suspension helmets to help prevent concussions. Riddell top pad, and Riddell leather jawpads. Helmet shell date coding is 1972, one of the aerocell pads is partially covering the clock portion of the coding system so month is hard to determine. All labels are intact and in mint condition. This is absolutely a great vintage helmet! Was this helmet game issued by the 49ers? It is really difficult to say, but it sure looks like it was. A true must for any NFL or 49ers fan. | Great looking old Riddell Kra-Lite Jets helmet. This helmet was manufactured by Riddell for use on the field in NFL games, but originally was converted to a helmet lamp for display. The decals and striping are the original ones put on by Riddell and are the authentic thin-mil. Since it's production the helmet has been refurbished with new suspension padding and jaw pads inside, and an authentic Riddell BD-9 facemask from that era was added. Most helmets from former lamps come with a mask which still has the hole drilled in the bottom bar of the mask which secured the helmet to the lamp base, but we have made the exchange to the original mask so that the helmet is as authentic as possible! The only way to get a helmet more authentic is to find a true gamer, and there are not many of those around any longer. This helmet has a date stamp of 1973 inside the helmet and has a size 7 3/8 suspension installed so that faithful Jets fan can wear it on game day. |

| We don't have any of history on this rare old beauty. This helmet is made by Marietta, and is from the 1950's. It is a Giants blue impregnated shell, with the center stripe painted red. The "ny" logos are painted on in white, and although they look like they are possibly authentic, you need to remember that the Giants did not add logos until the 1960s. So, here is a rare and great size 7 old suspension helmet that has seen plenty of action. Also of important note, the helmet has never had holes drilled for a face mask. Who knows, it may have been a Giants "hat" from the glory years of the 1950's that some fan painted their beloved "ny" logos onto later. Size 7, this Mac Gregor suspension helmet is painted black under the shell, while sporting not only an authentic BD-9 Riddell 2-bar facemask from the era, but also an authentic U-bar mounted correctly, jaw pads, and chin strap. This helmet shows quite a bit of game use, and is decorated with the thin-mil striping and Steelers decal. Please note, that with many Mac Gregor helmets of the era, although the paint was under the shell, the decals are on top, and as such, the Steelers decal covers two of the side rivets, just like it would have on the field. This helmet is white inside, and recently painted authentic Cowboys silver outside, with authentic striping and Cowboys “star” decals as used in that era. Helmet also has had a dino stripe added with the name “Harris” on it. This Riddell TAK-29 suspension helmet is a size 7 3/8, and has an authentic vintage Riddell BD-9 two-bar face mask, authentic vintage wildcat sweatband/nose bumper, and authentic vintage leather jaw pads, all original to the helmet at its manufacture in 1972, as indicated by the date stamp inside the helmet. This helmet will make a stunning display as it appears to be as brand new as opening day of the 1972 NFL season! The only way to get a helmet any closer to a true Cowboys game helmet was to be there in 1972 and get it from the equipment manager yourself. Riddell TAK-29 helmets are very rare as they have a set of air or liquid pads at the base of the neck to help prevent concussions. This beauty, with the older six-spoke suspension padding, shows extensive game use of scrapes and dings under the recently applied coat of Cowboys silver paint on the outside, and even shows a small crack below the right ear hole. Boy, talk about earning your stripes! This is a beautiful helmet from the Golden Era of professional football, as shown by the flared ears of the helmet. This is what his helmet would have looked like, and is about as close to the real thing as you can get without spending thousands of dollars.. This helmet is size 7 1/8, and has the rare thin-mil multi-layered decals, and correct size and font #14 on both sides, just like Fouts’ helmet would have had. When it came to us it had Rams yellow horns painted on the helmet like the Rams used in the early 60's. Notice where the horns meet in the front- just the like the authentic Rams helmets of that era, the base of the horns meet together and touch. The helmet comes with a lineman's cage face mask including the butterfly flange at the top for attaching to the helmet, just like those worn in the early to mid 1960s. The helmet also has authentic leather jaw pads, and has the slightly flared ear holes. This beauty shows slight wear similar to game use, which only adds to the attractiveness of the helmet.
